Campagnolo cancels layoffs after agreement with unions
The planned layoffs at Campagnolo have been called off. The Italian bicycle components manufacturer initially intended to cut a significant portion of its workforce but has now backed down following an agreement with the unions.
Campagnolo has been facing financial difficulties for some time, making a "reorganization" necessary according to the company. This would have resulted in more than a hundred job cuts at the headquarters in Vicenza, as announced in December. However, earlier this month Campagnolo revealed that the layoffs are off the table after reaching a deal with the unions.
The company emphasizes, however, that reforms in the corporate structure are still necessary. "The company is undergoing a fundamental internal reorganization affecting both the structure and operation of the business. This is not a cosmetic change," it states. According to Campagnolo, these reforms are essential to meet the demands of the modern market.
