Officially, four-time Tour winner Chris Froome has not yet announced the end of his career, but it increasingly looks like the 40-year-old Brit has ridden his last kilometers as a pro.
In an Instagram post, his current team Israel-Premier Tech – the name for 2026 is not yet known – announced that Froome, along with Pascal Ackermann, Riley Pickrell, Matthew Riccitello, Michael Schwarzmann, and Michael Woods, is leaving the team.
Tomorrow, on November 15, the team will reveal its new identity, but before that moment arrives, they want to thank Froome and company for their services. Notably, Derek Gee is not mentioned in the lineup after he unilaterally terminated his contract.
During his five seasons with the team, Froome was never able to make a big impact and has hinted several times about the end of his career. However, he has not yet made a definitive statement about it himself.
