A striking report from Australia. Pro Kit Club – the website for professional cycling apparel – is selling Israel-Premier Tech clothing on its site. The company aims to raise money this way to help... children in Gaza who are in need.
Pro Kit Club, based on the Australian island of Tasmania, sells team apparel with the goals of reducing waste and providing consumers with "professional cycling gear at a fraction of the original price." On November 23, the website announced it would sell Israel-Premier Tech clothing, as reported by the site Bike Radar.
In a press statement, the company refers to it as an 'impossible decision,' but nevertheless decided to sell the clothing. Pro Kit Club sees an opportunity to make a statement: it wants to raise funds to help children in Gaza who are in distress.
Meaningful contribution
"If my child were hungry and someone offered to donate money or food, I wouldn’t worry about where it comes from. That debate is a luxury we can have because we are not in such a situation ourselves," the explanation reads. The statement is signed by the owner of Pro Kit Club, Paul Braybrook. The cycling kits have been available for purchase on the website since November 27.
"Because we do not want to make a profit from selling these cycling kits, we have decided that the proceeds will be donated directly to the United Nations World Food Programme to help children suffering from famine and severe hunger in Gaza. This allows us to make a meaningful contribution, although we understand it will upset some people."
