Jonas Vingegaard will be doing the Giro d’Italia and Tour de France double this year. Several people within the team have confirmed this to Cyclingflash. With this, Vingegaard follows the path that Tadej Pogacar took in 2024. The Slovenian won both Grand Tours that year.
If Vingegaard wins the Giro d’Italia this coming summer, he will be the first rider of this generation to claim victory in all three Grand Tours. He already won the Tour de France in 2022 and 2023. Last year, the Dane was the best in the Vuelta a España after finishing second in the Tour de France behind Pogacar.
In November, Vingegaard said he would prefer to win his first Giro in 2026 rather than his third Tour. In the same interview, however, he added that the Tour remains "obviously the biggest goal."
Visma | Lease a Bike held their team presentation in Spain on Tuesday afternoon, where the objectives for 2026 were announced.
