Jonathan Milan and co ready for another sprint in UAE Tour, right?
After two days in which the general classification was shaped, the sprinters get another day to shine. Although: there is certainly a good chance of a (mass) sprint, it’s not exactly a red carpet either. WielerFlits takes a look ahead!
Route
The addition of Jebel Mobrah isn’t the only route change implemented by the UAE Tour organizers. Stage four is also different from usual. Normally, sprinters would get a 100% chance the day after the first mountain stage, but this time a fairly challenging stage has been drawn up. Although there are no categorized climbs, the course features rolling terrain all day long.
The toughest climb comes right from the start: about eight kilometers at an average of 4.3 percent. Not an absolute leg breaker, but a good opportunity for strong riders to form a breakaway. Whether they can then hold off the sprinters’ teams is uncertain, but they will definitely try their luck.
