Jonathan Milan escapes serious injury after crash in UAE Tour 2026

Last year, he won the opening stage of the UAE Tour on the same finish line, but this time he hit the ground a kilometer earlier. Jonathan Milan couldn’t avoid the crash caused by Alberto Dainese in the final kilometer and came down hard on the asphalt. The Italian top sprinter of Lidl-Trek remained down for a long time but ultimately managed to finish.

Apart from a missed chance for a stage victory, Milan appears to have escaped his tumble without serious injury. After the finish, he was immediately subjected to a series of medical tests, which revealed no fractures.

However, he sustained injuries to his right hand, right knee, left elbow, and left hip. Lidl-Trek stated in a brief message that they will monitor his condition on Monday evening and Tuesday morning ahead of the individual time trial. The team will only provide another update if necessary.
