Lidl-Trek reassures fans: Derek Gee-West to receive new champion jersey
Lidl-Trek is working on a new champion's jersey for Derek Gee-West. The 28-year-old rider was introduced as a new signing by Lidl-Trek earlier this month, but the Canadian champion's jersey he wore in the photos was not well received by fans. As a result, a new shirt is being made.
The original shirt is – aside from the sponsor logos – almost entirely white. Only the ends of the sleeves are red, and there is a tiny maple leaf, Canada’s national symbol, on the front. This sparked quite a bit of criticism, which Lidl-Trek is now responding to. "Don’t worry, fans: a new shirt is being worked on for Derek," the team said with a smile on Instagram, alongside footage of Gee-West still riding in the criticized jersey.

Tour of the Alps ahead of the Giro d'Italia
Lidl-Trek shared in the post Gee-West’s race program for the first half of 2026. As is well known, the Canadian will target the Giro d'Italia as a major goal next season. He had already informed El País that he would prepare by racing the Volta ao Algarve and the Tour of Catalonia. Now it appears the Tour of the Alps is also on his schedule.
