Orbea recalls Avant models over possible cracks and breaks in front fork

Orbea has announced a recall for its Avant road bikes due to the risk of cracks and even breaks in the front forks of these bikes.

This concerns the H40, H50, and H45XI models from 2025 and 2026, reports BikeRadar. According to the European Commission, the front forks of the affected Avant models are the issue. They can "crack and break," potentially causing injury. The front fork is made of carbon fiber, while the rest of the frame is aluminum.

On a dedicated page on Orbea’s website, consumers can check if their bike needs to be replaced. You do this by entering the serial number, found beneath the barcode on the bottom bracket.

"The safety and quality of our products are our highest priority. During Orbea’s quality control, it was found that the safety of a batch of forks for the Avant 2025 and 2026 models may be compromised under certain usage conditions," the Spanish bike manufacturer states. "To eliminate any risk, we are replacing the forks on the affected bikes."
