Remco Evenepoel has not yet given an official response to his headline-grabbing transfer to Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe, but the Belgian law firm Cresta has now released footage showing Evenepoel addressing his move.
On social media, it can be seen that the Belgian is video calling top footballer Romelu Lukaku while signing his contract. The Belgian international and Napoli player is also legally represented by Cresta, and the law firm helped facilitate Evenepoel’s transfer to his new team. In the video, the current world time trial champion reacts for the first time to his transfer.

Lukaku asks if Evenepoel is happy. "Yes, yes, yes. Definitely. It’s time for something new," Evenepoel laughs about his new German team.
"Red Bull is top. Really, really top. The Tour next year? Yes, man," Lukaku looks forward to next summer. "It’s the right step at the right time."
"I’m going to do my best," Evenepoel replies.
These are the first public words from the Belgian himself about and since his transfer. In the announcements from Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe and Soudal Quick-Step, there was no statement from the main person involved. However, others have responded, such as Patrick Lefevere, Soudal Quick-Step CEO Jurgen Foré, his colleague Ralph Denk from Red Bull-BORA, and even Evenepoel’s parents.
