Klaas Maes serves as CTO at Wielerflits, where he leads the technical infrastructure and development of the company's digital platforms. He holds a degree in Mathematics from Hasselt University and Eindhoven University of Technology. Before joining WielerFlits full-time, Klaas contributed to WVcycling.com for many years, helping to build and expand the cycling database that would later become the foundation for Cyclingflash.com. He played a key role in creating the Cyclingflash Ranking, an innovative alternative to the UCI World Ranking that evaluates cyclists based on the quality of opponents they defeat rather than accumulated points. His technical expertise spans platform development, data analytics, and building scalable systems that serve millions of cycling fans across wielerflits.nl, wielerflits.be, and cyclingflash.com
