UAE Emirates XRG is having an impressive Vuelta. Since the first rest day, the Emirati team has won every stage, totaling seven stage victories achieved by four different riders.
The UAE spectacle began on day five when the team won the team time trial. The following day, breakaway rider Juan Ayuso had his moment of glory, followed the next day by Jay Vine before the other teams could claim any prizes.
After the rest day, the team simply kept the winning streak going. Vine and Ayuso won again, followed by Joao Almeida on the Angliru and Marc Soler at Lagos de Somiedo. Only the stage to Bilbao went without a UAE winner.
With this, Matxin and his squad have put in a rather unique performance. Winning seven stages in the same Vuelta hadn’t been done since O.N.C.E.-Look-Mavic in 1994. And celebrating with four different riders was last achieved by Comunidad Valenciana-Kelme in 2004.
📊🏆7 stage-wins, 4 different winners. What a 🇪🇸Vuelta a España 2025 for 🇦🇪UAE Team Emirates.
🔝Last team with 4 winners: 🇪🇸Comunidad Valenciana - Kelme in 2004.
🔝Last team with 7 stage-wins: 🇪🇸O.N.C.E. - Look - Mavic in 1994.
