After second place in Flanders, Pauline Ferrand-Prévot may still race Paris-Roubaix

Pauline Ferrand-Prévot played a leading role in the finale of the Tour of Flanders. For the second year in a row, she finished second, this time behind Demi Vollering, who proved a class above on the Oude Kwaremont. In front of the Wielerflits camera, the Visma | Lease a Bike rider said she was happy with her race. And with Marianne Vos absent, following the passing of her father, Paris-Roubaix has suddenly become an option again for PFP.

"I have no regrets today," said the Frenchwoman to our camera. "I just did my best. I wasn’t strong enough to follow Demi on the Oude Kwaremont, so yeah... I can only be happy with how we raced as a team, because the girls did an amazing job. I’m actually quite pleased with this second place because today it simply wasn’t possible to do better."

The women's edition of the Tour of Flanders saw many crashes in the finale, but Ferrand-Prévot stayed out of trouble and was able to play a leading role in the finale. And that with just two race days in her legs for this Tour. "It’s about staying calm and trying to enjoy the chaos," she explained. "It really helps to be in a good position, and the team did a fantastic job on that front."

"It’s really nice to be back in these races and to be able to fight at the front. I’m very happy and I hope many more moments like this will come," Ferrand-Prévot said.

Last year, the Visma | Lease a Bike leader surprisingly won Paris-Roubaix. This year, she would normally skip the French Classic, with Marianne Vos expected to lead the team. However, due to sad family circumstances, Vos had to miss the Tour of Flanders after also missing several spring races in recent weeks.

Does this mean Ferrand-Prévot will still race Roubaix? "We need to see how Marianne feels. For now, it’s just very unfortunate, and we really missed her today. So we have to wait and see how she feels, and then we’ll make a decision," said the Tour winner.
