The future of Ryan Kamp in cyclocross looks somewhat brighter. The 25-year-old Dutchman has secured a spot for the coming months with Team Ekoï, a temporary cyclocross team set up to support Kamp alongside Lauren Molengraaf and Hélène Clauzel.
Team EKOÏ is a cyclocross squad created by Alpecin-Deceuninck. The press release states that the team "positions itself as a bridging project." "It is a temporary but fully professional structure that ensures the riders remain competitive and visible until the end of the season," it reads.
For Philip Roodhooft, establishing a new team is necessary at this moment. "Both Christoph and I see it as our mission to keep the sport attractive and competitive. With Team EKOÏ, we want to give three riders the chance to continue fighting for their place at the highest level until the end of the season. They deserve a professional environment, strong support, and the right equipment."
Besides EKOÏ, Colnago is also involved as a sponsor of the new team, which will exist until the end of the cyclocross season. What happens afterwards is still unknown. "Then we'll sit down again to see what the future holds," concludes the Belgian.
