The French cycling team Decathlon announced a new co-sponsor on the second rest day of the Tour de France. The partner is CMA CGM, a multinational specializing in overseas container transport. This marks a collaboration of "at least five years."
"Following the recent announcement that Decathlon will become the owner of the professional cycling team at the end of the season, an ambitious new chapter is already taking shape," the team said via social media. "CMA CGM, a global player in sea, land, air, and logistics solutions, is joining as co-sponsor alongside Decathlon until the end of 2030."
"Driven by performance and a shared French ambition, we move forward together. This partnership brings together two major French family-owned companies with a strong international presence." CMA CGM operates in 177 countries and employs 160,000 people. The company is also the shirt sponsor of the football club Olympique Marseille.

It was already announced that Decathlon will become the sole owner of the WorldTeam Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale at the end of the current cycling season. AG2R La Mondiale has been a sponsor of the team since 1997 and became the legal owner of the French squad in 2022. Now, that responsibility is passed to the international sports retail giant Decathlon.
High Ambitions
Dominique Serieys, CEO of France Cycling (the organization behind the team), said this month that considerable effort has been made over the past eighteen months to build a strong relationship with the new owner. The takeover aims to enable the French squad to pursue new sporting ambitions.
"This announcement marks a new chapter for the team," Serieys stated. "As part of its strategic vision, Decathlon is already preparing for the next phase in the team's development, with ambitious goals for 2026 and beyond. The objective is clear: to continue growing both in depth and performance, aiming to reach the top 3 in the UCI World Ranking by 2028."
