The professional cycling career of Amund Grøndahl Jansen has come to an end. The 31-year-old Norwegian could no longer count on a contract extension with Uno-X Mobility and has since announced his retirement via social media. We mainly remember Grøndahl Jansen from his time with Team Jumbo-Visma, now known as Visma | Lease a Bike.
Jansen made a name for himself as a classics specialist at Jumbo-Visma starting in 2017, and while riding for that team, he also won a stage in the ZLM Tour and the Norwegian national championship in 2019. After four years with the squad led by Richard Plugge, he moved to the Australian Jayco AlUla to take on more personal leadership roles.
This, however, did not prove successful. The Norwegian had to undergo multiple surgeries due to a narrowed femoral artery and was sidelined for extended periods. Good results were lacking, and Grøndahl Jansen spent his days on the Australian team mostly as a domestique.

In December 2024, he made the switch from Jayco AlUla to Uno-X Mobility from his home country Norway. Grøndahl Jansen hoped to revive his career in a more familiar environment, but due to physical setbacks, he barely raced for the team: in 2025 he only completed 25 race days.
His last race was — as it turns out — the Tour of Denmark. In this five-day stage race, Grøndahl Jansen finished 98th in the general classification.
