Antonio Tiberi is only 24 years old, but the Italian has already started six Grand Tours. Tiberi has ridden the Giro d'Italia twice and has appeared in the Vuelta a España four times. A debut in the Tour de France is still pending, but it won't be long now. In 2026, he will make his first appearance in the French race.
The Italian sports newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport revealed last month that Tiberi will debut in the Tour in 2026, a fact now confirmed by the rider himself. What are the ambitions of the Bahrain Victorious rider? "I want to start in the best possible shape, and then we'll see how far I can go," he told the Spanish Ciclo21.
"If I see chances for a good GC result, I will definitely go for it. If not, competing for stage wins is a good alternative," continued Tiberi, who says he has learned from his disappointing performance in the last Giro d'Italia. "It gives me a lot of motivation for the future."

Busy spring
In the months leading up to the Tour, we will see Tiberi working hard, as the Italian opts for a packed race schedule. He kicks off in the Tour of Valencia and will then also line up at the UAE Tour, Trofeo Laigueglia, Tirreno-Adriatico, the Tour of the Basque Country, Liège-Bastogne-Liège, and the Tour of Romandie.
In preparation for the Tour de France, he aims to fine-tune his form at the Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes (formerly the Critérium du Dauphiné). "It’s an intense race calendar, but I love racing and feeling the rhythm of competition in my legs."
