Arne Marit no longer seems to have to worry about his sporting future. Surprisingly, the 26-year-old Belgian had no place in the merged Lotto-Intermarché team, but the sprinter is moving to the ambitious Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe. This was reported by Het Laatste Nieuws.
Marit began his professional career in 2021 with the then-called Sport Vlaanderen-Baloise. Riding for this team, he made significant progress, especially in sprinting, and secured his first pro victory at the Grand Prix du Morbihan. This put him on the radar of Intermarché-Wanty, and at the end of 2022 he also signed a contract with the WorldTeam.
In the Intermarché-Wanty jersey, new wins eluded him, but Marit scored numerous podium finishes in recent seasons at races including the Tour Down Under, the Tour of Catalonia, and the Vuelta a España. However, due to bad luck (crashes and injuries), he was not always able to show his full sprinting potential.

Still, Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe sees Marit as a reinforcement for their sprint squad. Riding for the German team, he can potentially further develop as a sprinter, although the team already has two recognized sprint assets in Jordi Meeus and Danny van Poppel.
Eighth signing
Marit is certainly not Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe’s first signing for the new season. Remco Evenepoel is the most eye-catching newcomer, but Gianni Vermeersch, Mattia Cattaneo, Jarrad Drizners, Adrien Boichis, Callum Thornley, and Luke Tuckwell also join the WorldTeam in 2026.
