Kata Blanka Vas is back on the cyclocross circuit this weekend. The Hungarian rider from SD Worx-Protime will start on Sunday in the Superprestige race in Overijse.
The 24-year-old Vas finished third in the World Cup last year. At the World Championships in Liévin, she secured a fifth place. Her biggest achievement came a week before that World Championship, when she managed to stay ahead of Zoe Backstedt and Lucinda Brand in Maasmechelen.
This season will be special for the Hungarian cyclocrosser. She is coached by Belgian cyclocross legend Sanne Cant, who will support her and her Luxembourg teammate Marie Schreiber throughout the cyclocross season. Schreiber, however, has not yet started her cyclocross season.
