Ceylin Alvarado has already won two races in 2026 and now she has also claimed the Dutch National Championship title. She seems to be fully back after a challenging period. "Yes, the feeling was coming back, but this is the confirmation," said the Fenix-Premier Tech rider after the race in front of our camera.
"I don’t yet feel like I’m completely back at my peak, but it’s going in the right direction. I think I’m almost there," said Alvarado, who had to start her cyclocross season later due to knee issues and then battled illness. "That lasted for three weeks."
Alvarado said she always ‘kept hope’ that she would reach her top form again. "In the end, it’s my job. And I just really love doing it. I simply always have hope that things will get better. Of course, I also draw a lot of hope from my faith. That God will carry me through. That makes the red-white-blue even more special."
Now Alvarado is back to full strength. How will she prepare—after clinching the Dutch title—for the last races of the cyclocross season? "The next few weeks will be hard training," she laughs. "Just a few more percent. I can’t do more than that."
