Cheering ex-footballer Andres Iniesta provides ‘assist’ for NSN win in Catalonia
Thanks to the victory of Australian Brady Gilmore, NSN Cycling celebrated Sunday afternoon in the streets of Barcelona, following the final stage of the Tour of Catalonia. The most striking gesture of joy? That came from ex-footballer Andres Iniesta.
The 41-year-old Iniesta, you know: one of the winners of the 2010 Football World Cup and an undisputed club legend at FC Barcelona, watched the stage from the front row in the NSN Cycling team car. With a big smile, he then climbed out of the car. Or as the team described it themselves: ‘Another assist and another victory for Andres Iniesta!’
We have known Iniesta for some time as a loyal follower of the race, but with his sports and entertainment company, he is also simply a shareholder of the NSN team. He took over the Israel Premier Tech team. Apparently, Iniesta is also deeply involved in the sporting aspect.
Earlier in the race, the team already secured a stage win with Ethan Vernon.
Another assist and another victory for @andresiniesta8 😏
