Elia Viviani and Ally Wollaston will be part of the UCI athletes' commission for the next four years. The Italian and New Zealand track cyclists will represent the interests of track cycling within the athletes' commission.
Wollaston was the only female candidate for the athletes' commission, while Viviani had to compete against Harrie Lavreysen and the Venezuelan Clever José Martínez Moros. Viviani secured 113 votes, ten more than Lavreysen, which means he will remain on the commission through 2029.
The UCI athletes' commission primarily serves an advisory role. The commission focuses on improving working conditions, promoting ethics, and providing information about important regulatory changes in the sport.
Last month, Juliet Labous and Toms Skujins were already elected to the UCI athletes' commission for road cycling.
