The cycling season has only just ended, but teams are already preparing for the new cycling year. Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe is no exception: the German outfit is hosting its team days this week, with all newcomers—including Remco Evenepoel—making an appearance.
Just over a week ago, Evenepoel was racing at the Giro di Lombardia for Soudal Quick-Step, but in the coming days, he will get his first close introduction to his new team for the upcoming seasons. "He is very enthusiastic," team director Sven Vanthourenhout told Sporza at the Ruddervoorde cyclocross race.
"He is really looking forward to this week, where we will get to know each other better in a different way. There is never a lack of ambition and motivation with Remco, but this is something new at the right moment in his career. He is excited about it."
Vanthourenhout has been working with Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe since August 1st. "I had a very enjoyable introduction to the team. Now we are looking ahead to 2026, and at the team camp, we will meet the new faces, conduct evaluations, and set the planning."
Many changes
For a long time, it was unclear what role Vanthourenhout would fill in 2026, but that is now known: the Belgian is one of the eight team directors of the WorldTeam. There will be significant changes at Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe. The team has not only signed an additional leader in Evenepoel but also made key changes to its technical staff with the arrival of a Chief of Sports, Head of Racing, and several team directors.
