So soon after the Road World Championships in Africa, the European Road Championships are also being 'compressed' into a five-day period. The Mixed Team Relay event has been scheduled for Thursday, October 2, the day after the individual time trials. With only seven countries participating, there is clearly little enthusiasm for this discipline.
For years, the mixed team time trial has been an overlooked event, and this year is no different. Only seven countries are taking part in the event, eight fewer than at the recent Road World Championships in Rwanda.
Ukraine is the first to start at 2:30 PM, followed by Luxembourg, Estonia, Switzerland, host nation France, Germany, and finally Italy. Other well-known cycling nations such as Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain, Great Britain, Portugal, Denmark, and Poland are noticeably absent.
In the first wave, it's Ukraine, Luxembourg, and Estonia, while the top countries start in the second and final wave. The participating nations start at four-minute intervals.
