From gravel to cobbles: Tadej Pogacar does recon of Paris-Roubaix

Tadej Pogacar openly admits that he has set his sights on Paris-Roubaix. After the Slovenian made his debut last year with a second place behind Mathieu van der Poel, he aims to win the Hell of the North this year. That’s why he is preparing down to the finest detail.

In December, Pogacar already went to northern France to conduct equipment tests on the cobblestones, and four days after his victory in Strade Bianche, he made a return visit to Le Nord. This time, he explored all the cobbled sectors of Paris-Roubaix with Florian Vermeersch, set to take place on April 12 this year.

Pogacar and Vermeersch covered a total of 210 kilometers. They did visit the velodrome in Roubaix but finished their ride a bit further north, in Wevelgem. The duo spent five hours and 46 minutes on the bike, averaging 36.3 kilometers per hour.
