It’s no surprise at all, but now it’s official: Luke Lamperti will be riding for EF Education-EasyPost next year. The fast American is saying goodbye to Soudal Quick-Step after two seasons.
Lamperti made his professional debut in the Belgian team’s kit. That was in 2024, after spending several seasons with the renowned British development team Trinity Racing. During his time with this now-defunct squad, he scored four pro victories, and added two more while riding for Soudal Quick-Step.
In his first pro season, he sprinted to a stage win at the Czech Cycling Tour, and he also found success in this stage race last season. Lamperti also collected several top placings, with podium spots in Nokere Koerse (3rd) and the Bredene Koksijde Classic (2nd), as well as a top-five finish in the final stage of the Giro d’Italia as highlights.
The 22-year-old American often played a supporting role in a star-studded team alongside (then still) Remco Evenepoel and Tim Merlier. At his new employer—EF Education-EasyPost—he hopes for more freedom to pursue his own goals.

"Feels like coming home"
“I’m really excited to join the team,” he says in a press release. “I already know quite a few guys and look forward to joining such a great group and seeing what the coming years will bring. It feels like coming home. It’s an American team. Of course, cycling isn’t very popular in the United States, so it’s pretty special to be an American rider on an American WorldTour team.”
Team boss Jonathan Vaughters is, as always, full of praise for his new signing. “Luke is a fantastic sprinter and classics rider who knows how to deliver a lead-out. He’s a true leader, especially for such a young guy. We can already roll him out as a team leader. He has outstanding leadership qualities and is also very tactically savvy.”
“He will become one of our go-to riders for the cobbled classics,” continues the former pro. “And we will also often put him forward as a sprinter. I also think he will be a great mentor for Noah Hobbs, our rising star in the U23 ranks who will make his pro debut next year. I see Luke winning a race like Gent-Wevelgem. And if you really want to dream: Milan-San Remo,” Vaughters sets the bar high.
