Megan Jastrab, a name you won’t forget after reading this message. The rider from Picnic PostNL is not only a respectable cyclist in the WorldTour (she finished second in Gent-Wevelgem in 2023 (ed.)) but also a good person. Jastrab has started a crowdfunding campaign.
The American rider is doing this not for herself, but for her fellow countrywomen. The junior women from the United States are currently not allowed to attend the World Championships in Rwanda.. This is not because they aren’t good enough, but due to a lack of financial resources at the American cycling federation.
That’s why Jastrab is now calling on her followers to donate money, so that her talented compatriots can still go to the World Championships next month.
"As a junior, I was always lucky that donors, friends, and family supported me. Because of that, I could participate in the biggest races in the world. That support ultimately shaped my future," she writes. "Now I want to help the next generation make that possible."
Jastrab’s fundraising goal is 10,000 US dollars. So far she has raised 375 dollars.
