'Isaac Del Toro adds Ardennes classics to program'

Will we see Isaac Del Toro participate in the Ardennes Classics in April? The Mexican rider was originally not scheduled for these races, but he is now said to have added them to his program. This information comes from Irish cycling journalist Daniel Benson.

It is unclear exactly which Ardennes Classics are meant, and whether this also includes the Amstel Gold Race, alongside La Flèche Wallonne and Liège-Bastogne-Liège. Del Toro has yet to race any of these events in his career, and they were initially not on his calendar this season either. The 22-year-old rider was expected to conclude his spring campaign with the Tour of the Basque Country.

For Liège-Bastogne-Liège, UAE Emirates XRG already has the top favorite with three-time winner and defending champion Tadej Pogacar. However, the world champion will skip this year’s Amstel Gold Race and La Flèche Wallonne. With the explosive Del Toro, UAE Emirates XRG would still have a serious contender for these races.
