Isaac del Toro Shows Off His Mexican Champion Jersey for the First Time

The long season finally came to an end for Isaac Del Toro after the national championships. Still, that doesn’t stop the 21-year-old multiple winner of UAE Emirates XRG from hopping on his bike. During a Cycling Festival Ride Along in the home country of his team, the newly crowned double Mexican champion eagerly shows off his new champion’s jersey.

Del Toro perfectly capped off his successful year last week by claiming both the time trial and road race titles at the Mexican National Championships. These were victories number 17 and 18 for the talented rider. After the national championships, he indicated that he was ready for a break, but true rest will have to wait a little longer.

Some contractual obligations were still awaiting Del Toro. In the United Arab Emirates, the Mexican climber could be admired during the Cycling Festival Ride Along. On the social media channels of UAE Team Emirates XRG, you can see how the 21-year-old enjoys his newest champion’s jersey during that event.

Boost for Mexican Cycling
Del Toro’s breakthrough season is giving Mexican cycling a major boost. “I hope cycling in Mexico can keep growing. Of course, that will take time, but a lot of positive things are already happening and I hope I can contribute to that in a small way,” said the national hero himself after his double title win.

In September, it was revealed that the organizers of GP Quebec and GP Montreal are in talks with Del Toro’s home country about staging a professional cycling race. “I am currently in discussions about a joint venture to see if there is an opening there,” said Sébastien Arsenault, president of the Canadian WorldTour races, to Wielerflits.
