Joris Nieuwenhuis sees Heizomat-CUBE as "new chapter I was looking for"
Joris Nieuwenhuis will make the switch from Ridley to the German cyclocross team Heizomat-CUBE after this cyclocross season, as previously announced on this website. The Dutch top cyclocross rider has signed a contract for 'multiple years' with the ambitious squad.
The 29-year-old cyclocrosser currently rides for the Ridley Racing Team, but that team will cease to exist. Nieuwenhuis had been searching for a private sponsor for some time and has now found one in the German brand Cube, in collaboration with the German cyclocross team Heizomat.
"Heizomat-CUBE is the new chapter I was looking for," Nieuwenhuis said in a press release from his soon-to-be employer. "The team grows every year and it feels like the right environment for me. After a few conversations, I quickly realized that we share the same long-term ambitions. I’m really looking forward to working closely with the team and CUBE."
Perfect match
Stefan Herrmann, team manager of Heizomat-CUBE, is also enthusiastic. "With Joris, we get a rider who fits perfectly with our approach, both athletically and personally. He has already proven his qualities multiple times at the international level. Together, we want to continuously develop our team further."
Marcus Pürner, owner of CUBE Bikes, also has his say. "Our involvement in cyclocross is aimed at the long term. Riders like Joris provide not only sporting insights but also valuable feedback from races. This feedback is used in the further development of our products."
"The collaboration is deliberately designed to last multiple years. It represents continuity, clear sporting development, and a shared vision. CUBE and Heizomat hereby confirm their long-term commitment to international cyclocross," it was stated.
