Matteo Jorgenson keeps up with Isaac Del Toro: "I'm extremely happy about this"
Matteo Jorgenson had a strong day in Tirreno-Adriatico. On the final climb, he was the only one who could keep up with Isaac Del Toro, which propelled him up the general classification. The American is now third, just behind Del Toro and Giulio Pellizzari.
"I’m extremely happy with this," Jorgenson said on the team’s website. "This is simply a very good result. The guys did a great job and kept me well protected near the front, allowing me to save a lot of energy. At the end, I even tried to break away from Del Toro, but it didn’t work."
Saturday offers another opportunity for the American, as the riders will have to climb Camerino twice in the finale. "I’ll go for the best possible result again. Today’s stage definitely gives me a lot of confidence," he concluded.
