Tadej Pogacar has now won almost all the major races, but Milan-San Remo and Paris-Roubaix are still missing from his palmarès. However, the Slovenian is motivated to change that in 2026. In an interview with Marca, he also expressed the expectation that he will start the Tour de France again next year.
"I think I will go back to the Tour," Pogacar responded when asked about his goals for 2026. "It's very clear: it is the biggest race of them all. But I also want to show myself in the classics, to see if I can do better in the one-day races than last year. Milan-San Remo and Paris-Roubaix are two races I am highly motivated for. I want to try again and fight for the win."
Last year, Pogacar finished third in Milan-San Remo and was second on his debut in Paris-Roubaix. Both times, the victory went to Mathieu van der Poel. In Milan-San Remo, Pogi previously finished twelfth (2020), fifth (2022), fourth (2023), and third (2024).
Next season, the 27-year-old powerhouse from UAE Emirates XRG will have the chance to win the Tour de France for the fifth time. He would then join the same ranks as Jacques Anquetil, Eddy Merckx, Bernard Hinault, and Miguel Indurain, all of whom have also won the Tour de France five times.
