TotalEnergies has secured a new bike sponsor for next year. The riders of the French team will ride on bikes from the German brand Cube in the upcoming season. This was reported by the French Le Télégramme.
TotalEnergies rode the past two years on bikes from the relatively unknown American brand ENVE. That partnership is now coming to an end. Before that, the team used bikes from Specialized. That deal was mainly linked to the arrival of Peter Sagan in 2019.
Cube has been the bike sponsor of Intermarché-Wanty and its predecessors in recent years and still has an ongoing contract with the Belgian team. However, since Intermarché-Wanty is set to merge with Lotto, which rides Orbea bikes, it is still unclear whether Cube has a future with this new formation. By partnering with TotalEnergies, Cube remains visible in the professional peloton.
TotalEnergies ends role as main sponsor
Earlier this year, TotalEnergies announced it would stop as the main sponsor of the team. So far, nothing is known about a possible new sponsor, but the partnership with Cube indicates confidence in the team’s continued existence.
