The organization of the Tour of Oman has few surprises in store for the upcoming edition (February 7-11) of the stage race. The five-day event will once again be decided on the slopes of the now well-known Green Mountain, although some tough climbs are already on the agenda in the first days.
Sprinters planning to take part in the Tour of Oman would do well to circle the first stage in red in their route book. The opening stage from Bushar to Bimmah Sink Hole is 171 kilometers long and tailor-made for the fast men.
Stage two, on the other hand, is suited for the puncheurs. The finale features two climbs. The ascent to Qantab (2.6 km at 6.5%) is an initial selection about ten kilometers from the finish, but just before the line comes the climb of Yitti Hills, covering 1.6 kilometers at 6.6%. Breakaway specialist Louis Vervaeke secured an emotional victory here last year.

Two uphill finishes
Stage three is all about climbing, with the finish line drawn at Eastern Mountain (4.6 km at 8.5%), also known as Jabal Hatt. The steepest section comes just before the final kilometer, with gradients exceeding 15%. In the last kilometer, the average incline remains a challenging 11.2%. Matteo Jorgenson (2023) and David Gaudu (2025) have both triumphed here.
Those who think the general classification will be decided at the top of Eastern Mountain will be mistaken. After a relatively flat penultimate stage—offering sprinters another chance to shine—a tough final stage awaits. Once again, the Tour of Oman finishes atop Green Mountain, a climb of 5.7 kilometers averaging 10.5%. Who will deliver the decisive blow in the battle for overall victory here?
Muscat Classic
The day before the Tour of Oman, the riders will already be in action at the Muscat Classic. This one-day race, established in 2023, suits explosive riders and well-climbing sprinters, thanks to its hilly finale.
The organizers have made few changes to the route, so this year’s finale again features climbs to Bousher Al Amerat (3.4 km at 8.8%), Wadi Al Kadir (2.1 km at 7.3%), Al Hamriyah (800 meters at 9.8%), and Al Jissah (1.4 km at 9%). This last climb is very close to the finish.
