The rumor had been circulating for some time, but Remco Evenepoel has now officially added the UAE Tour to his race program. This was confirmed by the organizers in a press release.
Originally, a high-altitude training camp with his team Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe was planned during the period of the stage race (February 16-22), but this has been postponed.
In the stage race, the double Olympic champion will face riders including Isaac del Toro and Jay Vine from UAE Emirates-XRG. The route for this year’s edition is yet to be revealed.
Evenepoel already won the UAE Tour in 2023, when he beat Luke Plapp and Adam Yates. He will start his season at the Trofeo Ses Salines in Mallorca on January 29. After that, he will compete in the Tour of Valencia (February 4-8).
