Unibet Rose Rockets has made a new move in the transfer market with the arrival of Ronan Augé. The Frenchman comes from the continental CIC-U-Nantes team. Earlier this week, the team already announced the signing of Victor Lafay.
The 21-year-old Augé has signed a contract until 2027 with the Bas Tietema squad. He is known as a fast rider who can also handle hills well. This year, he sprinted to a fourth place in a stage of the Ster van Bessèges, a seventh place in a stage of the Tour Poitou-Charentes, a third place in the GP de Plouay, and a fifth place in Paris-Troyes. He has not yet recorded a victory at the highest level.
For the French team with a Dutch touch, this is the tenth signing for the new season. Earlier, the arrivals of Dutch veterans Dylan Groenewegen and Wout Poels were already announced. In an interview with WielerFlits, Tietema indicated that his team is nearly complete.
Incidentally, Augé is the son of the now 50-year-old former rider Stéphane Augé, who raced for teams such as Cofidis and Crédit Agricole and retired in 2010. During his career, he won, among other achievements, the overall classification of the Four Days of Dunkirk, two stages in the Tour of Germany, and a stage in the Tour of Poland.
