Visma | Lease a Bike has never before started the Tro-Bro Léon, but that is about to change this year. At least, Le Télégramme reports that the Dutch team will debut this season in the well-known race over Breton gravel roads.
The French newspaper reports, based on information, that Visma | Lease a Bike will compete this season on the weekend of May 9 and 10, as two Breton one-day races—the Grand Prix du Morbihan and then the Tro Bro Léon—are held.
The yellow-black squad has not previously participated in these races, not even during the Rabobank era, although the former development team did make appearances in the past with riders like Mike Teunissen, Timo Roosen, and Bert-Jan Lindeman.
In particular, the Tro-Bro Léon is a very popular race among cycling fans. The race, held on the characteristic Northern French gravel paths since 1984, has produced notable winners such as Jaan Kirsipuu, Mark Renshaw, Christophe Laporte, and Arnaud De Lie.
The race was part of the Coupe de France for a long time. However, this race series—which connects several French one-day races—is undergoing significant changes. Not only the name but also the races and broadcast channels are changing.
For example, starting in 2026, the Tro Bro Léon will no longer be part of the overall classification. In contrast, the Grand Prix du Morbihan will still be a Coupe de France race.
