World champion Magdeleine Vallieres has announced that she will start her road season in Australia next month. The Canadian rider will line up on January 17 for the Santos Women's Tour Down Under.
This will be Vallieres's third race in the rainbow jersey. In 2025, the Canadian already showcased her rainbow jersey in the Giro dell'Emilia and Tre Valli Varesine.
Vallieres herself does not expect too much yet, she says in the Domestique Podcast. "I have just started my first training block, but I’m already doing heat training. Our team includes Noemi Rüegg, the winner of the Tour Down Under, so we’ll try to win the race again. We have some cards to play, but it’s still a bit uncertain how my form will be. My goals lie later in the season, so I definitely won’t be in peak form yet."
What Vallieres's goals are this season is not yet clear. Earlier, she did indicate aiming for good results in the Ardennes classics.
