Stage 5 Arnhem - Arnhem (147.9km)
The last stage of the Tour of Holland is once again rather hilly. In and around Arnhem, the organizers have designed a 15.5-kilometer circuit that must be completed ten times.
After the unofficial start on the market square in Arnhem, the peloton covers the first 2.2 kilometers in a neutralized procession before entering the circuit. The loop begins on the Zijpendaalseweg, where the riders head northeast toward Schaarsbergen, then return via Alteveer and the Apeldoornseweg back into Arnhem and the finishing straight.
The race’s decisive section lies on the Zijpendaalseweg (1.4 kilometers at 3.5%), while midway through the lap a gravel stretch of more than one and a half kilometers also awaits. The route passes by landmarks such as Sonsbeek Park and the Open-Air Museum, ensuring plenty of picturesque scenes along the way.
Update 19-10-2025: NIBC Tour of Holland Removes Unsafe Gravel Section from Final Stage
The organizers of the NIBC Tour of Holland have decided to remove the gravel section from the final stage’s route. A recent inspection revealed that the section is not safe enough for a peloton of riders to pass over multiple times. As a result of this conclusion, the circuit north of Arnhem has been modified.
"After inspection, it turned out that the quality of the gravel, in certain parts, is not sufficient to guarantee a safe race for the entire peloton," the organizers stated in a press release.
The original route featured a 15.5-kilometer circuit. Due to the detour, the circuit now measures 13.65 kilometers. "Therefore, it has been decided to add an extra lap, making the total stage distance 147.95 km."
The start time is also postponed by twenty minutes, from 12:10 to 12:30. The team presentation begins at 11:00.
Feed Zone
The feed zone will be moved to Zijpendaalseweg, 1 km after the finish line.
Red Bull KM
The Red Bull KM has been moved to Kemperbergerweg. The sprints for bonus seconds will take place on:
- Lap 7 (after 88.15 km)
- Lap 9 (after 115.45 km)
