The upcoming Cyclocross World Championships in Hulst can look forward to distinguished guests. King Willem-Alexander will be present at the elite men's race on the afternoon of Sunday, February 1. This is reported by the Government Information Service.
Before the race, he will meet with the world championships organization and representatives from the international cycling union UCI and the Dutch cycling federation KNWU.
After the finish, the King will meet the cyclocross world champion as well as the riders who finished in second and third place. The 77th edition of the Cyclocross World Championships will take place from January 30 to February 1 in Hulst, Zeeland.
This is certainly not the first time King Willem-Alexander has attended a cycling event. As a passionate sports fan, he has been seen at several major international cycling races. For instance, he was present at the Dutch Grand Départ of the 2015 Tour de France and the Dutch start of the 2016 Giro d'Italia.
