A notable name among the new signings of Alpecin-Premier Tech is the German Maurice Ballerstedt. He left the team at the end of 2024 and then completely disappeared from the radar.
"I spent a year in the United States racing criteriums and gravel events," the German now says. "There I was focusing on my own results for a while. It was a fun and successful season, but now I am ready to race on the big stage again and help the team achieve major results. And honestly, there’s no better place to come back."
Ballerstedt developed through the Visma | Lease a Bike youth academy, but turned pro in 2022 with Alpecin-Deceuninck. He made an impression there with, among other results, a second place in the Tour of Limburg and a sixth place in a Vuelta stage.
