The Dutch-Swiss company dsm-firmenich is making the jump from cycling to running in 2026. It will become the title sponsor of one of the most prominent pro teams, formerly known as the Nationale Nederlanden Team (NN Running Team).
dsm-firmenich is a global leader in nutrition, health, and beauty products. In 2021, it became the first title sponsor of Iwan Spekenbrink's team, succeeding Sunweb. It held that position through 2024, although in that season PostNL was added alongside its name. Starting in 2025, the team was known as Picnic PostNL, but dsm-firmenich remained prominently displayed on the shoulder of the jersey. It is not known whether this will still be the case in 2026.
The dsm-firmenich Running Team has existed since 2017 and boasts major names in the athletics world such as Eliud Kipchoge, Joshua Cheptegei, Letesenbet Gidey, Nienke Brinkman, and Abdi Nageeye under contract.
"Building on knowledge from cycling"
Dimitri de Vreeze, CEO of dsm-firmenich, explains the choice as stemming from 'a shared passion for running.' "Building on our experience in cycling, we will support the team with our innovations and scientific expertise."
"Elite athletics offers the ultimate environment where every detail counts, making it the perfect place to test the latest solutions. This collaboration embodies our shared vision to push the boundaries of human performance and innovation in health and nutrition," the CEO stated.
