7 months since my crash, I raced, trained with fear and pain.
I’m blessed and proud to have helped the team achieve 4 wins 🥇 and P4 in GC in my last race as a rider…
Thanks to all the people who were there in this chapter and see you soon in the next one ❤️🙏 https://t.co/rjVfcZ9eZe

Alexandr Vinokourov Jr. was involved in an accident in Greece in March. The son of the team boss of XDS Astana collided with a car that unexpectedly appeared around the corner. Hospital examinations revealed he had suffered a broken thigh bone. It was a fracture in the right femoral neck, the part of the bone that connects the femur to the hip joint.
Vinokourov returned to the peloton after about six months of rehabilitation, but he still suffers greatly from the aftereffects of his crash. Thus, the curtain falls on the Kazakh at a very young age. He competed for the development team of XDS Astana over the past four seasons.
