Arnaud De Lie also won the GP de Wallonie in the men's race. At the top of the citadel of Namur, the Belgian had to dig deep to secure the victory.
Wednesday was once again time for the GP de Wallonie. A race with considerable prestige in the cycling world due to the iconic finish on the citadel of Namur, a two-kilometer cobbled climb with an average gradient of 5.3 percent.
The organizers behind the GP de Wallonie were looking for a successor to Roger Adria, who last year edged out Alex Aranburu after a Spanish showdown. Both riders lined up again in 2025 but faced competition from the likes of Arnaud De Lie and Biniam Girmay.

Birthday boy Kamil Gradek celebrated his special day Wednesday in the early breakaway, together with BEAT rider Bram Dissel, Kenny Molly, Edoardo Zamperini, and Martin Urianstad. The five couldn't hold on — after Dissel was dropped 35 kilometers from the finish, the rest were caught 16 kilometers from the line.
All eyes were on the last two climbs to make a difference: the Tienne aux Pierres 13 kilometers from the finish and, of course, the notorious citadel. On the first climb we saw Sam Maisonobe push the pace hard for his leader Aranburu, but everything came back together by the foot of the citadel.
On the citadel, Victor Lafay immediately launched an attack. The troubled Frenchman — who just this month mentioned considering quitting cycling due to a persistent knee injury — held on remarkably long before being reeled back in by De Lie with 300 meters to go. The Belgian started his sprint early and held it all the way to the line, ahead of Emilien Jeannière.
