The signatures are still missing, but according to sports newspaper AS, it is only a matter of time before Burgos BH presents Jesús Herrada as their newest addition. The Spaniard rode for Cofidis in recent seasons but was not offered a contract extension.
Herrada was with Cofidis from 2018. During his time with the French team, he was particularly successful in his early years. The explosive climber secured prestigious victories such as the Tour of Luxembourg (2019), the Mont Ventoux Dénivelé Challenge (2019), and three stages at the Vuelta a España (2019, 2022, and 2023). His palmarès now boasts 21 professional wins.
In his last two seasons, Herrada struggled to achieve standout results. The two-time Spanish national road race champion managed only a handful of podium finishes this year. He came close to a win at the Vuelta a Castilla y León (2nd place), albeit in a less competitive field. He also placed fourth in the Mercan'Tour Classic.

The puncheur and stage hunter – now 35 years old – was not offered a contract extension after eight loyal seasons at Cofidis. However, he seems set to continue his career with a team from his home country Spain.
Sports newspaper AS reports that Herrada is on the verge of signing with Burgos BH. Talks between the ProTeam and the rider from Cuenca are in an advanced stage.
