He had previously announced his retirement as a professional cyclist, soon after reconsidered his decision, but Fabio Felline is now truly closing the door behind him. He revealed this in an interview with Tuttobiciweb.
The Italian had already decided to end his cycling career at the end of last year but quickly changed his mind. Felline signed a contract with MBH Bank Ballan CSB Colpack, the team where it all began for him. "I ended my career with a bitter aftertaste, but I also felt I still had something to offer," he said in June.
"I was just looking for the right project. For me, the circle is now complete, since I started with this team. So it’s a comeback with a nostalgic touch. I have clear ambitions and have worked hard in recent months to be ready. For me, there are no limits."
Felline raced seven days for MBH Bank Ballan CSB Colpack, but the experienced rider will not make the step up to the second-highest level of professional cycling. The Italian team competed last season with a continental license but aims to move up and has submitted the necessary documents to the UCI to compete as a ProTeam next season.
Multiple professional wins
Felline began his career in 2010 with Footon-Servetto. After that, he rode for Geox-TMC (2011), Androni Giocattoli-Venezuela (2012-2013), Trek-Segafredo (2014-2019), Astana (2020-2023), again Lidl-Trek (2024) and – finally – MBH Bank Ballan CSB Colpack.

The Italian, known as a strong climbing sprinter and prologue specialist, achieved a number of victories. His palmarès includes fourteen professional wins. For example, he was the best in the Trofeo Laigueglia, Memorial Marco Pantani (twice), and Giro dell’Appennino and won stages in races such as the Tour of the Basque Country, the now-defunct stage race Critérium International, and the Tour of Romandie. He also won the points classification in the Vuelta in 2016.
