At exactly twelve o'clock, we close the book on 2025 and welcome the new year. That is also the moment Remco Evenepoel officially ceases to be a rider for Soudal Quick-Step. For the Belgian, it's a reason to say goodbye already on Instagram. "Words fall short to describe the past seven seasons," he writes.
What a journey, Soudal Quick-Step. From a boy with a dream to a man chasing his dreams. There aren’t enough words to describe the last seven seasons. The victories, setbacks, lessons, and the people who supported me... I will be forever grateful."
"Grateful for teammates who became friends, for everyone who believed in me, and for everyone who made this chapter an unforgettable adventure. Thank you, Remco."

Soudal Quick-Step had already said farewell earlier to its most successful rider of recent years. In a video about a minute and a half long, the main memories of the Belgian rider were recalled. The biggest sporting achievements of Evenepoel in the team jersey were highlighted, but attention was also paid to his severe crashes and subsequent rehabilitations. The video then concluded with "Thank you, Remco."
Many successes
Evenepoel – who will ride for Red Bull-BORA-hansgrohe from 2026 onwards – achieved an impressive 67 professional wins during his time with Soudal Quick-Step. He won a Grand Tour with the 2022 Vuelta a España, but there were many more successes: the versatile pro also claimed victory twice at Liège-Bastogne-Liège and achieved three wins at the Clásica San Sebastián.
He was also highly successful at championships, although those were in the Belgian national team kit. He became world champion four times (road race and time trial), took the Olympic double at the Paris Games, and captured two European time trial titles.
