There has been a lot said and written about NSN Cycling Team recently, but on Monday the official presentation of the fully rebranded team took place in Barcelona. The event was attended by none other than Andrés Iniesta, the Spanish football legend and co-founder of the sports and entertainment company NSN.
Iniesta is one of the co-owners and also an ambassador for NSN. According to the company itself, the Spaniard plays a key role in the company’s vision and strategy, as he combines his sporting experience with the network of the NSN business platform. The company leverages his name and reputation for branding and marketing campaigns.
The former top footballer looked ahead to the coming years during the NSN Cycling Team presentation. “Cycling has always been a passion of mine, alongside football. I am very happy to now be able to experience it up close,” he said in a press release.

“This is a very important step for NSN, in every respect. We are excited and motivated and eager to share our knowledge and continue improving. We look forward to working together going forward.”
NSN co-founder Joel Borras spoke of a “unique opportunity.” “The team is fantastic and consists of an incredible group of people. We still have a lot to learn. We want to connect the world of cycling globally with our own interpretation, and then simply enjoy it.”
Iniesta himself is active within the company at a strategic level and as a brand ambassador. To what extent the former player of FC Barcelona, Vissel Kobe (Japan), and Emirates Club (UAE) will get involved with the cycling team is currently unclear. The 41-year-old Spaniard is known as one of the greatest midfielders ever. He ended his active career in mid-2024.
Between 2003 and 2018, he played a total of 442 matches for FC Barcelona’s first team and was part of the almost unbeatable squad coached by Pep Guardiola. He also earned 131 caps for Spain. Dutch fans will – unfortunately – mainly remember him for the lost 2010 World Cup final. Iniesta scored the only goal of that match in the 116th minute. In 2008 and 2012, Iniesta also became European champion with Spain.
