Antoine Huby's cycling career seems to be hanging by a thread. The 24-year-old Frenchman was brought in two years ago with high expectations by Soudal Quick-Step, but he could not stay with the Belgian team and is still searching for a new employer as of early January.
Now that most cycling teams are full for the upcoming season and the first races are just around the corner, Huby's situation doesn't look very promising. Yet, the Frenchman remains hopeful for a positive outcome. "Unfortunately, I still haven't heard anything. There have been some brief talks, but we are far from a contract. But I don't give up, I keep believing," he said in an interview with Le Télégramme.
"I continue to take care of myself like a rider who already has a contract for 2026. I still train with the same mindset to remain attractive to teams. I am doing everything I can to secure a contract. If a team contacts me, I’m ready immediately."
In the winter of 2023, Huby switched from the club team Vendée U to Soudal Quick-Step. With the renowned Belgian outfit, the puncheur took his first steps as a professional cyclist. The Frenchman had caught the WorldTeam's attention with some impressive results.

Top results in the U23 category
In the U23 category, he won the Course de la Paix, a prestigious stage race for under-23 riders. He also finished second in the Flèche du Sud (2.2) and Liège-Bastogne-Liège U23. At the Tour Alsace, he ended fifth overall. Earlier, he also made a name in cyclocross, becoming the French U23 cyclocross champion in 2021.
However, in his first two professional seasons, Huby did not leave a lasting impression. Personal results were absent in 2024 and 2025, but the puncheur closely experienced the successes of team leaders Remco Evenepoel and Tim Merlier.
