Marc Hirschi started his first season with Tudor Pro Cycling on a high note, winning the Clàssica Comunitat Valenciana, but it did not signal a successful cycling year ahead. After a disappointing 2025, the Swiss rider is determined to make a sporting comeback. This year, he is taking a somewhat different approach.
Hirschi was announced with much fanfare by Tudor Pro Cycling at the end of 2024. The former U23 World Champion was expected to be one of the new team leaders pulling the weight, but the top results failed to materialize in 2025.
The classics specialist is therefore facing an important cycling season. "In 2026, I want to do things differently," he told Cyclism'Actu this week during his team’s media day. And with a new approach comes the discovery of new races. "I want to ride the Giro d'Italia. It will be my first participation. I’m really looking forward to it."

"I expected more from the 2025 season. Sometimes I was quite good, but I wasn’t at my peak level. So it’s time to make some changes, both in my race schedule and training. I want to focus more on explosiveness and also reduce the number of races, to be fitter and fresher for the big goals."
Hirschi begins his season this month on the Spanish island of Mallorca with the Challenge Mallorca races, followed by a series of one-day races including the Figueira Champions Classic, Faun-Ardèche Classic, Faun Drôme Classic, Trofeo Laigueglia, Amstel Gold Race, La Flèche Wallonne, and Liège-Bastogne-Liège. In preparation for his Giro debut, he will also race Eschborn-Frankfurt.
