Mathieu van der Poel is already preparing for a cyclocross winter on Spanish roads after a well-deserved holiday. According to team manager Christoph Roodhooft, it is only a matter of time before the program of the seven-time world champion is announced. He said this in an interview with Sporza during the Exact Cross at Heerderstrand.
"He had a good holiday," team manager Roodhooft said about Van der Poel. "He is now training towards his cyclocross campaign. We plan to announce it at the World Championship presentation in Hulst." The official announcement will take place at the end of November.
Last year, Van der Poel's team only revealed his cyclocross schedule in the second week of December. Originally, the Alpecin-Deceuninck leader was set to race eleven cyclocross events in the 2024-2025 winter, but due to a rib fracture, that number was reduced to eight. The Dutch rider successfully closed his campaign with a seventh world title.
